Hi, well airplanes recycle the air, so risky. A medical expert said this morning on gmtv, if someone was sitting 3-4 rows in front or rear of someone with swine flu, then they would be at risk (same as bus or train as well, apparently). Best avoid travel for a couple of weeks as a precaution, if you do not need to travel. I think everyone is worried at the moment, but don't stop your life because of it, normal flu can kill after all, most people would recover from swine flu as well. Take care

I think my concern would be more the airport lounge/loos etc. than the aircraft. But if you are at all concerned, I think I'd err on the side of caution, and postpone your trip, at least until you see which way this bug is headed. I know life can't stop (and who knows how long this thing is going to last), but you do have another life to consider here.

But having said that, it's probably about as safe as anything else is when you step outside your door eh.

You need to talk to you pediatrician. They are saying in the news that one of the worse places to be is in a closed space with a bunch of people. In those conditions where a lot of people uses the same seats, door handles, things are not the cleanest as at home, so the same air is share by a lot of strangers that you don't know where they have been lately. So, if I were you with my baby, I prefer to wait if is not an essential trip.

I think it should be fine with all the precautions people are taking they will be able to detect before anyone even gets on the plane if they have the flu, and you Can always wear a mask

if i understand you correctly that your daughter is 10 months old, then if it were me, i would just stay at home for a while. being on the plane is not the only big deal, think of all the people you will come in contact with at the airport.

It is up to you. You could ring NHS helpline or NHS Direct, but i would stay at home. Your health and your daughter's health are more important than a holiday

It is no worry to fly w ur daughter. Just wash ur hands often (30 seconds min, warm water) often especially after u touch public "stuff" i.e. keyboard, etc....
