This issue with my right eye started back in March of this year. Starting in January I start wearing soft contact lenses for the first time ever and things were going great until my eye started producing an excessive amount of mucus. it was getting to the point of covering the contact lenses The mucus was coming out in ropes/strands and was getting to the point of covering the contact lenses I immediately stopped wearing the lenses and visited the eye doctor. The doctor thought it was pink eye and put me on Vigamox for a week, I returned 5 days later and there was no improvements; she then thought it was perhaps allergy irritation and prescibed me Pataday allergy drops. After finishing the Pataday treatment there was still no treatment, so I decided to visit an specialists office. The doctor put me on Tobradex, there was a small improvement, so she decided to end the drops and see what happened, after coming of the steroids in that medication the problem came back even worse. I returned to the eye doctor and they did a culture on my eye and it came back negative for bacteria growth and The Clap. She then put me on Pataday as the previous doctor, but yet still there was no signs of hope. After repeated visits she put me on Azasite and Lotemax(Steroid), there was a mild improvement and a decrease in discharge, but that was due to the steriod. At the current moment in time they have exhausted all possible Topical treatments and I have been on a Z-Pack and Keflex. I have looked at a number of possible eye conditions that it could be, but am still at a lose and so are the doctor. Please help if you have experience this or have any thoughts!

Are you still using the contacts? Are you still using the same solutions? If so, switch brands. A lot of them have problems and switching can help. You might even google the one you use to see if there are problems with it.

If that's not it, see if there is a university medical center you can go to. (A hospital where they train doctors.) They usually specialize in medical problems other doctors can't figure it out.

It would possibly take many years to heal. You will also be re-injuring the neck earlier than it heals thoroughly. Sounds to me like you will have a pinched nerve on your neck probably because of a ruptured disc. Sometimes they are attempting to repair the disc with a steroid injection. The steroid injection did not do me any well and I needed to have a disc changed. Two of them within the final 10 years! Yeah it sucks however would had been a lot worse. Give it a month or so after seeing the general practitioner once more and should you nonetheless do not believe larger take a look at an additional general practitioner who can have an additional opinion of your hindrance accordingly probably a differing alternative for therapy. Surgery relatively is not that unhealthy however dressed in a neck brace and the convalescing time relatively sucks. Good Luck

I have done that also and still do every now and then. I used eye drops in my eyes once and come to find out it was an allergic reaction. Well they did test after test and they could not figure it out. After getting a better eye doctor they found out that it caused a ulcer in the back of the eye and that is where the fluid was coming from. Mention the ulcer thing to your doctor and see what they say. I hope ya luck. O yeah does it kinda wanna Itch? Mine did just a little.
