Hep C isn't labeled as an STD and whilst it somewhat is a threat to transmit it sexually, the intercourse could ought to contain blood and open sores. Hep B is a STD and actual transmitted with the aid of sexual fluids, yet Hep C is barely transmitted with the aid of blood. desire this facilitates!

Hep C is primarily spread through contaminated blood, such as sharing needles for drug use. Don't share your boyfriend's razors or toothbrush, because you could get infected that way.

Hep C CAN be transmitted through sex, but transmission of Hep C through sex is rare--Hep C is not considered to be an STD.

Hep C is not transmitted through saliva or casual contact, such as sharing drinking glasses and eating utensils.

From Wikipedia:

Sexual transmission of HCV is considered to be rare. Studies show the risk of sexual transmission in heterosexual, monogamous relationships is extremely rare or even null. The CDC does not recommend the use of condoms between long-term monogamous discordant couples (where one partner is positive and the other is negative). However, because of the high prevalence of hepatitis C, this small risk may translate into a non-trivial number of cases transmitted by sexual routes. Vaginal penetrative sex is believed to have a lower risk of transmission than sexual practices that involve higher levels of trauma to anogenital mucosa (anal penetrative sex, fisting, use of sex toys).

the chances are all relative to the amount of sex you have with different people...and who 'they' have sex with...the chances of catching infectious diseases are drastically reduced when 'protection' in the form of condoms is utilized...get a blood test and use protection preferrably in that order.

More than likely you don't have it - it is somewhat difficult to get through sex. As Linda stated it is NOT considered and STD.

I was with my ex wife for seven years and she never got it from me. Get him to do the treatment, and if it works for him then you don't have to worry about it anymore. It worked for me in 2003...

Get tested of course, but I wouldn't lose any sleep over it. You would be more at risk sharing your boyfriends shaving razor or toothbrush. The virus requires a blood to blood transfer. This means his blood must enter an open wound on your body to get you infected. It does NOT transfer via saliva, semen/vaginal fluids, sweat or tears. Blood only.
